Athletics Reflection.

 Yesterday at athletics I competed in 60m and went to the finals and then 100m and went to the finals and then did the 200m and went to the finals, I also did the 800m and came 5th I think.

I liked the 60m the best because it was the easiest to run and the 100m.

I love doing athletics because it has a lot of events that I love and because I'm a sporty kind girl.

 This week we have been doing fingerprint stuff. In Mrs Kennady's group, We took our own fingerprint and it was so fun. A police called sally came in on Tuesday and showed us all these fingerprints stuff it is really fun so far and can't wait to figure out who has done it.

Whetū Workshops Reflection .

 Whetū Workshops Reflection

During Term 2 and 3 the Whetū students have had the opportunity to be involved in a range of different workshops.

The workshop that I have enjoyed participating in the most has been technology because I have never done scratch before and it was really fun. 

The new learning that I have learnt is the measurements from science.

What I have most enjoyed about the workshops are learning about new stuff that we haven’t learnt yet and now have and getting to have some fun.

 I am interested in learning more about science.

This is my inquiry 'So What?' I have made a Poster to show my learning about the question * should animals be kept in zoos*. For me, I thought it was hard to make a choice of if it was a good place or a bad place. I think zoos are a bad place for animals. Because some of those animals were brought up in the wild and then the zoo people or whoever comes and get them are taking them away from there mum and dad even know they have predators that can kill them that's just the Circle of life. This is my poster.

*Should animals be kept in zoos?*

• Zoos provide a safe place for animals that are being hunted illegally.

• Zoos have breeding programmes for animals that could become extinct

•   We can learn about animals in real life rather than books or media.

Cross Country.

 ross Country Reflection 2020

This year I participated in the NPS Cross Country held at school on the Ngatea Domain.  I ran in the - age group 9-Year-olds.

I am most proud of Doing one lap even though I felt like giving up. 

I think my effort towards our training at school was really good to keep your blood pumping and to do better at cross country.

I showed the Learning Power of Resilience by trying hard and knowing that I could do this even though I didn’t cross that finish line. I was still proud of myself for doing one lap even though I couldn’t breathe. 

Chapter Chat.

 This term we are reading a book called Wink. For this week's Chapter Chat, I did Write Ross's Diary. It was fun to write about all the thing I had heard before. I liked doing this task very much. I had a very hard time trying to remember all the thing that I had to write down. I think that the was a supernova!

Whetu Challenge Week 3.

This week for our Whetu Challenge had to make Cartoon scene. We worked in our learning constellation my group's theme was Spongebob. I did Gary the snail because I thought he was the easiest to do but he was kinda hard. I think the  Spongebob theme was quite hard because it has a lot of characters. My favourite one was Gary because it was the one I did. My favourite one out of all of the groups was the wine gums because they did lots of detail and It looked realistic.

For the Whetu challenge, we had to try not to make your egg crack. 

I was in a group with Roanne and Kiarna Which was fun.

We got one bag in each group and it had, 3 Straws, Some newspaper, tape, two balloons, scissors, string, An old sock and a bag.

It was so fun to do.  
I enjoyed working With Roanne and Kiarna because its a group I haven't worked with yet. 

 It was exciting to watch other peoples eggs drop. It sounded cool when it dropped.

My Term 2, 2020 Reflection!!

The new learning activity that I have enjoyed the most this term is the blog challenge or the Whetu challenges. I like the blog challenges because they are fun and sometimes easy. I like the Whetu challenges because sometimes we get to work with buddies and share all our ideas with them!!





Something that has challenged me this term has been the maths challenge because I’m not that good at maths and to me I think the maths challenge is hard to me.





The Whetu Challenge I enjoyed the most was the jingle because I like making music. I think that the jingle was something different to all the other Whetu challenges.






The opt-in workshop I enjoyed the most was the pom-pom birds because I love making and creating stuff especially the pom-pom bird.





An aim I have for my learning is to get myself better at maths and learn about stuff I didn't know.

For this week's blog challenge we did design your dream class or bedroom. I picked the bedroom because I thought it was going to be more fun. I liked how I did my room and I wish it was real. I like this blog challenge its probably the best blog challenge that we've ever done. I think my work is a Supernova because I like designing stuff.

Egg Carton Creation.

Whetu challenge week 11

I used An egg carton,Orange paper and white paper

It was easy because all I had to do was cut the egg carton out, ( The pointy part of the egg carton) then colour  the penguin in and the glue the orange paper to the penguin.

It didn't  turn out as planed but it was worth a try.

It was sooooo fun to do even know i didn't turn out as planed it was still soo much fun

The thing i want to do differently is make it a supernova!!

Whetu Challenge - Paper Planes

Today our challenge was to design an accurate paper plane. We were given a draft piece of paper to trial and a good piece to use once we had tested the accuracy of it.





Before we started I thought this challenge was going to be easy but it was really hard for me.





I decided to use the design the Javelin. It looked challenging so i challenged my self. And the Standard one look to simple.





The hardest part was for me was making the plane because i had never made one and i had no experiences in them.





During our competition time I managed to score 10. It was hard to get it in to the hanger because it was so tight.

In ten years time!!

This is my blog challenge. This weeks blog challenge activity was in ten years time. What that means is it just a doc were you have to answer some questions that the teachers set up. It was really fun and a little bit hard because you dont know what will happen in ten years time. I think this is a super star because i don't know what i would do in ten years time and because i havent been planing on anything to happen in ten years time.

Today i made a catapult with Olivia and Katelyn. 

The things that I used to make my catapult were a spoon, sticks and ruber bands. We watched a video to see how to make it.

To make my catapult I worked with Olivia and katelyn. It was fun and i would work with them again some time .

The most challenging part was nothing really all of it was really easy it took us like 5 minuets to make it.

Our best results were It was 65 cm. We used Katelyn's ruler to measure how far it went.

Overall I think that working with Olivia and Katelyn was really fun and that our work we have done was really good even know it took not a lot of time it still worked really well.

I think that our catapult is a supernova because it worked really well and that is all that matters.

Milk bottle creation.

The milk bottle creation I made was a panda. I was going to do a fish but then I thought it would be to boring.

The hardest part was to not make it look like something alse but I think it looks like a dog or a cat.

The easiest part was gluing the eyes and legs I

didn't want to put hot glue on just in case the plastic melted.

I enjoyed doing something different and not being on the computer all day doing school work.

This is my bunny his name is bunny. My mum picked that name because I keepet changing it. Bunny can do cross eyes and if yo pick him and put his head on your shoulder he cuddles in to you oh and he dribbles. He likes spinage, carrots, apples and cucamber. I can remenber some of the names that i called him. Buggsy, Sir buttkiss and Snowball.When nobodyone is looking he cleans him self but when he dose i go and sneak up on him and watch him. He has a mustache i have never seen a bunny with a mustache. His favorite place inside is under the table or behind the couch.

Baking with mum.

A few days ago me and my mum did some baking and we made some scrolls. There were really sweet. I mostly did all the work mum just told me what to do. Yesterday i made blue cupcakes and then we decorated them with my nanna and cousin but they just decorated them. When we made the scrolls we had to put the dough in the fridge over night until there ready to bake. They only lasted for like 2 days. I ate most of them. Their shaped like a cake but on the

Lock down: Finding old school books and letters.

This morning i found my all about me book's and some letters addressd to me. I read the letters a few night ago and saw that the were the letters from Kapa Haka last year. The letters were from Maia, Chrysler,Emily and Katara. I like to look through stuff from a few years ago its really fun. I found my all about me book from my first year of school. In my all about me book from my first ever year of school I saw how much i have changed in 5 years. There was like a peace of paper that had photo of me and some words that said when i grow... I would like to be a police officer so I can catch bad peopel. At the back there was a peace of writing that said I had horses at my birthday and my friend came. In my Whenua all about was a poem that me and tayla did and this is what it says Ice Cream Ice cream Ice Cream Creamy Ice Cream Cool Ice Cream Those are just a few. Bright Ice Cream delicious Ice Cream melting Ice Cream too flavoured Ice Cream yummy Ice Cream. Don't forget the vanilla Ice Cream, Last of all, Best of all I like Twin Berry Ice Cream.

HAPPY ANZAC DAY!!!

Happy ANZAC day!! I hope you are having an amazing day. We live right behind Primrose Hill in paeroa and this morning at like 6:30 i woke up to really loud fire work they were really loud and they sounded like gun shots. This morning we Played Music And then we went inside and watched full house. I was going to dress in red but i had no red clothes so i dressed in green.

Plants

These are my plants. They are very big in real life. They have grown alot. There are carrots lettuces
tamatos and cucumber but the problem is that i don't know which one they are. I water the every day. They have been growing for about 10 weeks now.

At home i have a class room in my garage. My teacher is my auntie. We work from 9:00 till 3:00. The peopel in my class is my brother and cousin. In our class room there is a student table and a teacher table. We do spelling, maths, writting and reading. At the start and end of school we do our end of school and morning whakatauki. I have made a funny looking fish out of cordboard, tape, A ruler, pencils and scissors. My lock down has been really fun so far and i cant wait for more. This is a pitcher of the fish and my class room.

In the past few week I have been doing some boring stuff and some cool stuff like played... Guess who, Monopoly, Connect four, Jenga and Chess and checker's. It is so fun at home but I miss my friends. I have planted some vegetables and have been taking great care of them.
